JOB OFFER - EVENTS COORDINATOR

The Position

The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing SHS events — including the Heritage Days Festival and SHS participation in provincial and regional events.

They collaborate with the entire team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations, projects, and events.

They act as a resource person for the Fransaskois community and contribute directly to the planning of the Saskatchewan Historical Society, as well as to knowledge dissemination strategies and the transmission of Fransaskois heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate SHS public events and activities.
  • Manage logistics: bookings, technical services, catering, transportation, and reception.
  • Maintain relationships with schools, Francophone organizations, cultural institutions, and partners.
  • Manage event budgets and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Recruit, schedule, and supervise volunteers and contractors.
  • Write promotional content in French and English.
  • Collaborate with archives, education, and bookstore teams to integrate Fransaskois historical content.
  • Collect participation data and propose improvements.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in event logistics and volunteer management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Proficiency with digital tools: MS Office, online forms, videoconferencing.
  • Autonomy, initiative, creativity, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong community service orientation and ability to collaborate with diverse partners.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in event management, communications, history, cultural management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a cultural or heritage organization in a Francophone minority context.
  • Valid driver’s license in Saskatchewan.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position — 37.5 hours/week.
  • Work location: Regina or Saskatoon (SK).
  • Start date: to be negotiated.
  • Salary according to current pay scale.
  • Benefits: pension plan, health insurance, seniority leave.
