A first summer camp for the Saskatchewan French Historical Society
Camp TIlo is a summer camp entirely in French for children aged 8 to 11 that offers the opportunity to discover living French Canadian heritage through traditional dance and music. This initiative allows for youth to be immersed in the Francophone culture of Saskatchewan, while promoting the transmission of traditions and a sense of belonging to the Fransaskois community.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the following activities:
- Traditional French-Canadian Dances: Learn to move to the rhythm of the music and discover a part of our culture.
- Musical Spoons and Traditional Music: Improve musical listening skills and follow a beat using hands and spoons.
- Board Games in French: Speak in French, think critically, and play with others.
- Create a Ceinture Fléchée: Work with your hands and learn about an old tradition.
- Decorations and Costumes for the Show: Use your creativity and work as a team to prepare for the final performance.
- Reading French Books: Read to better understand, learn new words, and have fun with stories.
- Old-Time Games: Get moving, play together, and discover games from the past.
Three weeks of camp in Regina are now open for registration since April 29, 2025, so register your children quickly to secure your spot. For more information you can visit https://histoiresk.ca/en/camp-tilo-en/ or contact us directly at info@camptilo.ca.
