The Maison de la francophonie de la Saskatchewan: an inspiring project reaches a new milestone
Regina, Saskatchewan — The weekend of November 7 marked an important milestone for the construction project of Saskatchewan's future Maison de la francophonie. Present at the Rendez-vous Fransaskois, an event focused on philanthropy this year, we had the opportunity to host an information booth to present the progress of the work, answer numerous questions from the public, and unveil the first architectural sketches of the future Maison.
Throughout the weekend, community members, partners, and curious visitors came to learn more and share their impressions. The discussions were rich and promising for this collective project. A tour of the building we are interested in was also organized to conclude the event. This tour confirmed that the building precisely meets the needs identified during consultations conducted over the past two years with the province's Francophone community.
Commitment to better communication
Several visitors expressed a desire to be better informed about the project's progress. We fully acknowledge this message. Although some information could not be shared earlier due to non-disclosure obligations, we admit that it would have been desirable to reach out more to members and organizations. We thought that consultations and invitations sent to all French-speaking organizations would suffice, but it is clear that the information was not always relayed to their members.
From now on, each new publication related to the project will be shared directly on the website and sent by email to organizations, which are invited to disseminate the information to their members.
